经贸讲坛 : Creating a Culture of Innovation

主要讲座内容:
We are currently faced with understanding the challenges of creating and leading cultures of innovation. This involves business management, educational institutions, non-profit organizations and government institutions.
First and foremost we have to understand the challenge of several of the major revolutions that are occurring in the world of management. This is the context of change.
1. The first revolution is ongoing globalization.
2. A second great revolution is the on-going digital revolution.
3. A third revolution is more diversity at home and abroad then ever before.
The challenges for the development of innovative organizational culture and leadership are multi- faceted. It requires some of the following:
1.Analysis of our own strengths and weaknesses as well as the awareness of others.
2.Critical thinking and analysis
3.Avoiding ethno-centrism and group think.
4.Creating flatter management structures.
5.Focusing on transparency
6.Developing strategic agility
7.Developing teambuilding skills

主讲人简介:
Peter Geib教授是明尼苏达州立大学教授,获得芝加哥大学硕士和博士,曾在耶鲁大学做博士后。专长在于国际商业,国际企业管理等领域的研究和教学。其管理学功底深厚,学术成就杰出,曾发表过30多篇期刊。
Peter Geib is a Professor of International Management at the Paseka School of Business, Minnesota State University Moorhead. He has an earned post-doctoral fellowship from Yale University in management and administration. He has a Ph.D. and MA degree from the University of Michigan with a trade policy dissertation.
His research interest for 35 years has been transition economies and emerging markets. He has done research in central Europe, Vietnam, India, and China. He is well-published. He first visited China as an exchange professor at Tianjin University in 1988-89. He also taught two summer sessions at Shanghai Finance University several years ago. He is currently working to strengthen this partnership
